Major Projects May Give Boost to Suisun City

Major Projects May Give Boost to Suisun City

Three major projects could provide a boost of about $3 million to Suisun City services

The city's budget reserves are stabilizing and growing stronger with an influx of one-time and ongoing revenues, according to a mid-year budget analysis released last Friday. The analysis offers a much different outlook than just a few years ago when layoffs and cutbacks were the norm.

But the outlook through 2010 is even brighter.

Three major commercial projects expected to open for business by 2010 will capture approximately $3 million to support enhanced city services, according to recently compiled city estimates.

The projects are:

• Suisun City Marketplace (also known as the Gentry Annexation) at Highway 12 and Pennsylvania Avenue - proposed at 481,000 square feet of retail space and 232 single-family homes.

• Wal-Mart Supercenter at Highway 12 and Walters Road - proposed 215,000 square feet of retail space, including grocery and garden center.

• Waterfront Hotel adjacent to One Harbor Center - a 102-room hotel catering initially to the business trade with full business service center, including executive conference rooms, and limited on-site food service. Waterfront rooms will offer fireplaces, and balconies overlooking the patio/garden retreat, pool and spa.
