FAIRFIELD - The Solano Economic Development Corporation will celebrate its 24th annual meeting on Jan. 25 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfield.

The luncheon, which will bring together business leaders, government and political officials, will begin registration at 11 a.m. and the program will start at 11:30 a.m.

Dan Walters, a political commentator with the Sacramento Bee whose column appears in the Daily Republic, will serve as the keynote speaker for the event. Walters will give an overview of the state of politics in California under Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's second term, in addition to the changing views on the economic future of the state.

Solano EDC is an organization of public- and private-sector members whose interest is to attract new businesses and expand existing businesses in the seven cities that make up Solano County.

There will be a special presentation during the luncheon to highlight last year's economic development in Solano County and an introduction of the 2007 board of directors.

Cost for the luncheon is $40 per person or $300 for a table of eight. Deadline to purchase tickets is Friday. For more information call 864-1855.
