Patsy Van Ouwerkerk (Solano EDC Board Mbr) completes China trip

China trip complete

Patsy Van Ouwerkerk, president and CEO of Travis Credit Union and member of the World Council of Credit Unions, traveled to China in June with other industry leaders to discuss credit union development initiatives with the People's Bank of China (PBC). Van Ouwerkerk was one of 10 people in North America selected for the trip.

The trip served as an opportunity to educate the Chinese about how credit unions could help their economy and teach the delegates about emerging markets.

The delegation met with top Chinese officials and visited rural credit cooperatives in the Chinese province Guizhou. They also conducted a seminar for PBC officials and met with representatives of the China Banking Regulatory Commission.
