Gas Crunch a Selling Point for development
By Reporter Staff
A home builder is using the specter of skyrocketing gas prices to lure buyers to an upscale development along Interstate 505 at I-5 north of Vacaville.
D.R. Horton is now marketing homes in Silver Hawk Estates, a gated, golf course community with estate-sized homes, some of which feature separate "casitas" on quarter-acre lots.
Four decorated model homes are open for touring.
During September, said Diane Snowder, sales associate at Silver Hawk Estates, a special incentive on a group of six select homes offers free gasoline for up to one year (not to exceed $5,000) with close of escrow by the end of the month.
"Silver Hawk Estates offers far more than sophisticated luxury home designs in a convenient location. It offers home buyers the opportunity to move up to luxurious living with a country club lifestyle - a refreshing alternative to big city living," Snowder said in her sales pitch.
The development is featuring its Concorde home design, which comprises 3,700 square feet of living space on two levels with four bedrooms, three baths, a den, bonus room, formal living and dining rooms, separate family room and a three-car garage.
A detached casita with full bath adds an additional 310 square feet to the base of 3,700. The Concorde on Lot 192 includes mocha maple cabinetry throughout, large ceramic tile flooring, black kitchen appliances, granite slab kitchen countertops, and a coffee bar with refrigerator in the master suite.
The Concorde on Lot 192 is available for September move-in, priced at $768,350.
Home designs in Silver Hawk Estates offer a variety of features, including Mediterranean, craftsman, and Old World exterior styling highlighted by artistic lighting, designer selected color palettes and concrete tile roofs and more.
Interior features and amenities include architectural niches, archways, plant shelves, designer-selected light fixtures, direct vent gas fireplaces with raised hearths in the family rooms and raised panel interior doors with brushed-nickel hardware. Fireplaces are standard in all master bedrooms.
Gourmet kitchens offer spacious pantries, hand set ceramic tile countertops, food preparation islands, breakfast nooks, and more.
Silver Hawk Estates features six one- and two-story home designs from 2,433 to 4,512 square feet with three to seven bedrooms and up to three baths. Three car garages are standard.
The development includes a 9-hole golf course, and private clubhouse featuring a swimming pool and tennis court. It is located at 33250 Pintail Street in Woodland, near the airport, making it easy for residents to fly home in their personal aircraft.
Models are open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For information, call (530) 661-3067. Tour the builder Web site at www.drhorton.com, and click on North Bay-Sacramento.
