Copart named one of top Bay Area firms

FAIRFIELD - Auto salvager Copart Inc. was named by the San Francisco Chronicle one of the top 200 companies in the Bay Area. The special section of the newspaper was published May 6 to highlight a year of increased profits for many companies based in the nine-county area. Fairfield-based Copart ranked No. 114 based on total sales of $430.8 million in 2004, beating out well-known companies such as Internet search engine Ask Jeeves and television service provider TiVo.The company ranked higher in the profit category, coming in at No. 62 with net income of $92.6 million.
