Fire district receives federal grant

The Cordelia Fire Protection District - which serves Solano County residents - was recently awarded a $85,500 grant under a program from the Department of Homeland Security.

The grant will supply the fire department with 45 new sets of protective gear, including hoods, coats, gloves, boots and helmets.
